2019 Winners

Message from the Founder, Linda Cabot
Gracias, Merci, 谢谢, Спасибо! We can only begin to express our appreciation to the student artists representing 69 countries who participated in this year’s Bow Seat Ocean Awareness Contest. Thank you for creating the world’s largest collection of student paintings, poems, songs, documentaries, and stories—all advocating for healthy oceans in a changing climate. Together you make a powerful collective statement. As cultural changemakers, your work acts like ripples that will inform and inspire people to make important changes in the world!
We are pleased and honored to present the 2019 class of Ocean Awareness Contest winners!
“Presence of Future” invited students from around the world to create artwork about a coastal or marine species, place, or system being threatened, altered, or lost due to climate change. These new creative works weave students’ personal experiences and memories, observations and speculations, and knowledge of climate science into a powerful collection exploring our intimate connection with oceans and marine life.
