Painting for Hope
Chantilly Lee
Englewood, NJ
2022, Senior, Art (2014 – 2023)
Reflection

Climate change is increasing at a dangerous rate. Flooding, according to NDCR, is one of the most deadly and common disasters occurring in the United States. This piece signifies the perspective the artists have towards climate change. Even as they're half submerged in the murky paint-filled water, they can still focus on painting. The aged man in the center is painting his version of paradise with an abundance of land and flourishing nature. As we tackle this global issue, I hope as artists, we can spread the feeling of hope to our community.
