Reflection

The poles are melting at a rate we haven’t seen before, our actions are causing the ice caps to melt and sea levels to rise. I chose to use a polar bear because for me it’s the emblem of the arctic. The bear melting symbolizes what we have done to our ice caps and the fact that it is happening because of us. We are just living our lives normally, not taking any notice of what’s happening on a global scale. This is what the people in the background represent. I used a frame with broken glass for three reasons. The glass looks like ice and the broken glass shows how our world is also broken, and thirdly I used the frame because frames focus attention to one place. Lastly I chose to surround the bear with rainbow clay; this shows that there is still hope and we can do something if we act now.
