Reflection
Reflection

In my work, I have portrayed a typical person who, upon hearing about the weather being amplified due to climate change, decides to order products through online shopping. As he orders more, we see more and more devices and products being replaced, and more and more packaging material, as well as the old products, piling up. In the end, the person has ultimately trapped himself inside his own house, just like how we are trapping ourselves by our own actions. The irony displayed in this work is that upon wanting a quick solution to a problem like high temperatures during summer, the person orders a new air conditioner instead of tackling the main obstacle, climate change, which in turn is only increasing carbon emission and pollution from the manufacturing and shipping, thus affecting the climate more and causing even higher temperatures. Again, upon zooming out of our planet, I have shown the likely future where all the failed attempts at sending satellites to outer space have only formed a giant cage full of space debris around our planet’s orbit, ultimately trapping and endangering us. We are always looking for a quick solution to any problem rather than understanding the root cause of it. As a result, most of our solutions to great world problems aren’t sustainable. The future for us and especially for marine life is looking grim, and only we are to blame for it.
