Climate Hero: Zaria Forman
The pen is mightier than the sword they say,
But for Zaria Forman, that’s more than a cliché,
Overconsumption plagues our world with dread,
Fueling the climate’s relentless fight, it’s said.
Zaria wields her pen to battle the change,
Stronger than consumption’s relentless range.
Her art offers a glimpse of a fairer world,
Where skies are clear, and seas are blue,
Nature thrives, the air pure through and through.
When I look at her paintings, I can’t help but say,
A brighter future awaits, it’s on its way.
In the stillness of her studio, Zaria wields her pen,
Conjuring images of a polar shore, an equatorial glen,
In her work, we see the world in all its hues,
From the burning reds to the icy blues,
Through her art, she tells a story,
Of melting glaciers, vanishing ice, and oceans choked with trash and debris,
Of a world that needs our care and sacrifice.
Her wish for the world is simple, yet profound,
To turn the tide, bring harmony back around.
With every pen stroke, she enthralls, inspiring care as tears from our world fall.
My heart is moved, message crystal clear,
We need to rise up and heed the planet’s call,
Zaria’s pen, mightier than consumption’s sword,
Mightier than climate change, consequences abhorred.
She speaks to my heart, lessons worth their weight in gold,
Her art ignites a fire, making my passion unfold.
Take action, stand up and fight, keep the hope for our planet bright.
It’s not too late to change our ways, and make this a better world for future days.
The pen is mightier than the sword, it’s true,
And Zaria’s art is a testament to what we can do.
With a single action, or a careless thought,
Our planet can be saved, or left to rot.
The pen is mightier than the sword, indeed,
With it, we can fight climate change, and take the lead.
Zaria gives me hope that we can make a change, restore our world,
And a future that’s bright and full of life,
Where we prioritize the planet over profit and strife.
So let’s stand with her, let’s join the fight,
Defeat consumption’s grasp, heal our planet’s plight, and make things right.
Reflection
When I was introduced to climate change and the effect it has on our planet, I became deeply concerned and wanted to raise awareness about this pressing issue. Through my research on this problem, I have learned about the alarming rate of global warming, the devastating impact on ecosystems and wildlife, and how overconsumption is the main root cause of the problem. I believe that art is an efficient way to convey messages and evoke emotions, and that through creative expression, we can ignite a sense of urgency and inspire action. By looking at Zaria Forman’s paintings, I experienced first-hand the effect art can have on people. I got motivated to use the power of art to promote change. As I was creating and performing this poem, I was filled with hope that we can change our ways to save the planet. It also made me realize how urgent the problem of climate change is, as I confront the gravity of the challenges we face. Overall, I became more determined to use my voice and creativity to contribute to this cause.
