Reflection
I was inspired to create this piece based on my love for the ocean. Ever since I was a child I loved collecting seashells from the beach. However, as I grew older I realized how these beautiful parts of nature are being destroyed by our own carelessness. I wanted to create this painting to stress the importance of preserving our environment. To the viewers of my artwork, I hope that my piece raises awareness on the importance of climate change and inspires them to take a step in doing their part for the environment. In connection to my piece, climate change is the long term change in weather patterns. An abrupt or unusual pattern can be harmful for the environment as temperature rises can lead to other issues. For example, ice caps melting lead to water levels rises as well as the increase of greenhouse gases in our atmosphere. Plastic pollution can also lead to climate change as creating these plastics can lead to an increase of greenhouse gases. To help my community tackle climate change, I make great efforts to participate in my school's recycling and trash clean up days. I will also spread awareness to my family and friends.
