Reflection

I've always been passionate about climate change and as the issue grows I have felt the need to take action and advocate for the safety of our planet. As I've gone through middle school and high school teachers are constantly talking about the climate crisis. Each time that we discuss how the ocean is rising and the air is warming, the issue has only worsened. I began to realize that while I was growing as a person, the issue of climate change was growing too. My poem "The Ocean is Rising and so am I" is about how my generation is racing against the rising sea levels among other repercussions of increased greenhouse gas emissions. I hope that my poem will urge people to take action and consider how they can contribute to the fight against climate change, for the sake of future generations.
