Reflection

Man has caused disruption to the ocean in many ways. One subtle way is the transfer of species to foreign land, which is known as invasive species. Originated in Western European coast, green crabs have now established habitats on both coasts of North America, southern South America, Australia, South Africa, and Japan through ships and cargos. They consumed local species such as worms and mollusks and severely disrupted local ecosystem and commercial shellfish industry. Invasive species is a serious oceanic disorder that’s not addressed enough in our society. In my artwork, I used a comical style in hope to present the issue in an understandable way and rouse people’s awareness.
