Reflection

I have always been in love with the ocean. How this large body of water is able to connect all nations and all people together. When I came across this challenge I instantly knew I wanted to participate in further spreading awareness for saving the ocean and the organisms within it. From my third grade project where I dressed up in a giant black garbage bag to represent the harm of a single drop of oil, to doing an entire capstone debate over climate change my junior year of high school, my heart has a special place for protecting our glorious oceans. Therefore I was happy to write this original song to better explain my view of the ocean as more than simply a body of water. Although writing songs can be challenging, writing about the importance of preventing climate change was a rewarding topic, and I am proud of the soul I put into this piece. Because to me, the ocean is a home, and in the same way we want others to protect our home, we must protect the home of the ocean too.
