Where are the Whales?

2019 Right Whales, Junior, Art (2014 – 2023)

Information board discussing the endangerment of the Right Whale due to noise pollution, boat traffic, and fishing gear, with personal reflection on conservation efforts.

Reflection

I did this painting to represent right whales' endangerment and what we are doing to the animals we love. It shows the dangers a right whale and her calf are going through. These are things that have really happened to these poor right whales, and there are things we can do to prevent them. Some examples are slowing down in the ship channels that right whales go through when migrating, or using more precautions when letting down lobster traps and more fishing gear. I hope these things take place before we lose these whales forever.
