Reflection
In this short film, I wanted to use a specific example of plastic pollution present in my own community that I could use to relate to the larger problem of plastic pollution in the ocean. By introducing the history of the Duwamish River, a body of water close to my home, and playing a large role in the history of the Pacific Northwest as well, I wanted to, in a way, give the plastic pollution problem “a face”, and in turn offer the audience a small personal connection to myself as well. I chose to create this film because of the strong interest that I have in the environment, and although I have never attempted to create a short film before, I have a love for documentaries also.
