Reflection

My artwork illustrates the future vision of a city, which will sink deeper and deeper into the water as climate change progresses. I came across an article related to rising water levels in Venice and discovered that Venice suffers from unpredicted natural hardships already. Inspired by this article, I decided to create an artwork related to the problem of rising sea levels, prominently caused by climate change. I imagined my own city trapped below the water—having destroyed buildings with no presence of land life. I came to the conclusion that soon, cities around the world could be challenged to the extent my artwork shows. Through the work I have created, I hope to raise awareness of rising sea levels. I, myself, will work hard to become a more eco-friendly person, avoiding anything that would harm the environment or cause climate change.
