Project Seaward
Tim Nguyen
Boston, MA
2020, Junior, Interactive & Multimedia

Project Description: My website includes solutions to protect my community from climate change. I have made a story about some solutions that can help my community be resilient towards climate change but also I have made AR models of those solutions which include different types of barriers. I have also included a gauge to show how high the seas are rising annually for Boston.

Reflection
Reflection

What inspired me to launch project climate was science class. We were talking about climate change and it was really hard seeing the effects of it without any visuals. I felt empowered to do something about it. I started making 3D models of the effects of climate change, which took some time, but it was worth it. I made the website to hold the 3D models, but also added stories to present other facts and solutions. I also wanted to make it accessible for people to know how warm the earth and the sea-level rise in certain areas. From this project, I learned how to animate in 3D, be a better coder and debugger, but most importantly learned how our planet is in a deep hole. I will now pledge to help out and also help people visualize and find solutions to climate change.
