Reflection

Ever since I was a kid, I’ve enjoyed playing dominoes. I love the satisfaction of seeing the dominoes falling one after another in a weird squiggly or zigzag line after all those hours of construction. However, I often got frustrated as a kid in the process of lining up dominoes, because when one block falls, all the other dominoes fall as well. Through my painting, I wanted to express the domino effect of climate change. The dominoes, representing horrifying causes of climate change, are toppling one after another and destroying our beloved ecosystems and wildlife. They are about to threaten a helpless polar bear and put upon it all the burdens humans have created. However, our hand stops the dominoes from falling. Humans’ indifference and selfishness have initiated a series of climate problems, yet it’s also us who can stop the current crisis. If we start to reduce our carbon footprint and strive for a zero-waste lifestyle by recycling and using renewable energy, we can stop the planet from melting and crumbling. We are running out of time, and before all the dominoes fall, we have to make changes and inspire others to do the same. If we work together, we can tackle this climate crisis and live in a green world with bright futures.
