Growing up in Jakarta, they always tell us that our city will be submerged somewhere in the future. I can see that people in my city are affected by climate change, so this issue is really important to me. I wanted my artwork to make people open their eyes. In the future, when climate change has become unfixable, perhaps we can continue to live because of our complex brain but how about animals, plants, and other living things. We are not the only ones who are affected by climate change. Millions of living things do. These animals need basic needs such as water, food, and natural habitats. But due to climate change, this has become increasingly difficult. According to the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species, four polar bear subpopulations are experiencing declines, while eight populations are data deficient. Climate change and the loss of sea ice habitat is the greatest threat to polar bears. The increasing temperature causes their ice habitat to melt. This artwork depicted a polar bear that is seeking a new place to live because of climate change. The excessive use of fossil fuels and deforestation are examples of the reason why climate change is getting worse. I realized that It's humans vs humans. We're the only one that can fix the problem that we have done. We need to be careful of our use in carbon footprint and keep raising awareness of climate change. Just because you don't feel it, doesn't mean it is not happening.
