Reflection

I believe that the water has memories. It records all of the destruction that we have done towards the environment. In my art, the icicles could be connected as a mirror, mirroring the image of our blueprints. The frozen marine lives mirroring the “poisoning” of the ocean. The excessive amount of water pollutants froze the marine lives and put them in danger. According to UNICEF, there are many families suffering due to the poor water resources. In Rwanda, youth tell reporters that they have to climb a hill everyday in order to get the water from a small, unsanitary pond. They see water as a luxury, just like the woman who holds the icicles in my art. However, what happens if we still ignore the threats to our environment? Then, the consequences will be extremely severe, just like the climate change that we face today. So, come and bring out your voice to save our planet.
