Reflection

The disastrous effects of sea-level rise will be felt across the globe, impacting not only humans who have acted as the catalysts but the blameless wildlife and environment as well. Many have already felt the effects of sea levels rising, as low coastal areas have begun to flood, forcing migration to higher grounds. The sunken city landscape depicted shows a glimpse into a bleak future for humanity. Many states and countries run the risk of completely disappearing into the ocean in the future. Yet four children are shown making their way to a single patch of land amidst the desolation, symbolizing hope. Like them, presently, youth across the globe are our future. From young activists sparking movements such as Greta Thunberg to those simply educating themselves on climate change, we can help instigate positive change in our environment.
