Reflection

After researching about water, I learnt that the Navajo Nation lacks proper water infrastructure, an issue amplified by past uranium mining and contaminated water spills. However, very little relief has been provided to the Navajo as they are considered to be sovereign from the US. I wanted my piece to expose the injustices that the Navajo have faced. Additionally, I wanted to show how contradictory the US has acted. The US was one of the main contributors to the Navajo's struggles by encouraging uranium mining, but was still unwilling to help the Navajo Nation in addressing this issue. I now realize that many social inequalities are mirrored through water access. Now that I've learned about this, I will contribute to Navajo water infrastructure funding.
