Reflection
My initial inspiration for "A Bird’s Eye View" came from those heart-wrenching images of birds, black and dripping from oil spills. My animation addresses the importance of saving nature and wildlife combined with taking the upper vantage point of a bird that allows it to see the forest for the trees, or in this case, climate change over ocean and everyday pollution problems. We all need to look closely, shed a tear for our planet, but then take action. Even simple things like taking a bike instead of a car, or eating more greens. I think that much like the bird—although we don’t ignore the negatives—we can see the positives, starting right here amongst the young people spreading the message of hope, action, and change. With global awareness and bright minds working around the world, an oily, injured bird can once again become clean and whole again.
