Reflection
Inspired by the topic of carbon footprint, I thought that everyone—despite differences in age, gender, or values—could take steps towards a better and healthier environment. We now live in a world where everything is based on convenience, thus the use of single-use items and increase in personal vehicles. Through this piece, I want to convey that even a single step towards decreasing one's carbon footprint, whether it be not using plastic utensils or bringing a reusable bag for groceries, can make an impact for the better. I purposely depicted a bare foot to portray the effort it takes to walk, instead of the convenience to drive. Creating this piece made me reflect on my own carbon footprint and had me thinking on realistic yet effective solutions that I could implement in my own home. I hope that through my personal step I can motivate others to take their steps as well.
