Reflection
We recently covered climate change in class, and I felt that watching documentaries was not catching the attention of my classmates. I thought that if I created a catchy and informative tune, it will help inspire my generation to take action for our future. I was talking to my creative writing teacher about how I thought that there are a lot of people oblivious to climate change, and she suggested this contest. I got straight to work, working on my song every day. I visited multiple informative websites that told me the horrors that my peers did not quite understand. The websites showed species that have been fatally wounded by not only plastic, but many other kinds of garbage as well. I saw trucks draining oil from the ground and causing CO2 emissions and earthquakes. But I learned that if we spread awareness, our earth might still have a chance. That’s why I will ask my science teacher if he could help me present my video in class so that my classmates will think twice about wasting plastic or littering.
