Reflection

My love for the ocean became realized when I lived in the Grand Cayman Islands, where I was able to interact firsthand with the ocean and its inhabitants. However, swimming in the ocean seeing bleached coral reefs became a common sight. Although I did not know what caused this at the time, this experience stuck with me and later evolved into motivation for pursuing a project about the acidification of the oceans. I wanted to portray my ideas through a creative medium that the current generation can relate to, and this eventually led me to PowToon. PowToon utilizes animations to creatively convey a message, and I found it to be ideal in expressing my ideas. One of the most important takeaways for me in creating this submission was conveying a strong message of hope.
