Antarctica Ice Sheet Mass Measurement

Reflection
In this drawing, I imitated Jill Pelto's unique style by directly incorporating data into the artwork. I used data from NASA's “Antarctica Mass Variation Since 2002”, with the trend line being depicted in the drawing. Obviously–the mass of ice sheets in Antarctica is falling significantly. Although I can anticipate this outcome every time, my heart still sinks when I see the stark data. Beyond the black smoke that billows into the sky and the brightly illuminated cities, there is always a cost to pay. Global warming impacts more than just the animals inhabiting the glaciers; it is a consequence we bring upon ourselves. Taking action is imperative, and as I write this, I hope I can contribute to the deceleration of global warming. Raising awareness and employing propaganda are effective tools, particularly when targeting children. I was taught to use more public transportation and less electricity from a young age, and these habits have continued to this day. I hope my paintings will reach a wider audience, and I express my gratitude to Jill Pelto for her environmental contributions. Her paintings and actions speak for themselves.
