Beached Right Whale
Ian Smith
Freeport, ME
2019 Right Whales, Junior, Art (2014 – 2023)

Clay model of a gray whale breaching out of blue water on a textured brown surface.

Reflection

I chose to create this artwork to show some unaware people what is happening because of our noise pollution. I wanted my artwork to show how upset I am to see that we’re making a species almost extinct because of our actions, and provoke similar emotions in those who view it.
