Beneath the Waves
Quincy, MA
2015, Senior, Poetry & Spoken Word
Beneath the waves our mighty seas,
Lives beauty and wonder for all to see,
Diverse and colorful, like an artist’s mad strokes,
Instilling the same wonder the eternal stars provoke
Yet life there is bound in plastic chains,
And forced to suffer all manner of unspeakable pains,
As toxins and refuse are purged from our doors,
And poison and vile is sent to defile our azure shores
And until we arise our soft and comfortable lies,
That pollution we cause should be know and despised,
And that we all should that life is left unbound and free,
From the tallest of peaks to the deepest of seas
Reflection
The project was very inspiring to me as I have a great love for the world's wildlife and a deep hatred of human ignorance and pollution. I hope my words in some small part aid in making people aware of the extent of oceanic pollution.
