The world is blue.
Blue that allows us to breathe. Blue that fills the seas.
Blue that gives us our food.
Blue that keeps us safe.
Blue
The world is blue.
Our world is blue.
Blue
Blue for the oceans are dying.
Blue for our future is crying.
Blue
We have failed our world.
What gives us food, we have starved. What gives us air, we have choked.
What gives us a world full of life, we have used and abused till there will be no life.
Our world is blue.
Reflection
Reflection
Blue was inspired by the dichotomy of the word "blue". It can refer to the lush color our world is literally covered in, or it can mean sad and depressed--which also applies to our oceans, since they are dying. I wanted this to leave the audience uncomfortable and seemingly unfinished. I have learned from all this that we do not have a lot of time at all. The striking piano reminds us that our time is running out. We must act now. I will personally try my hardest to use my art to advocate for this and raise money and awareness. I also will be conscious of how much plastic I use.
