Intro
Lookin’ genuinely worried
About what can happen today
A social media environment warrior
Who stubbornly throws their trash away

Sticks their nose to current issues
But doesn’t even do a thing
Now wonder what went wrong and strange
These are one of the funny things about climate change.

Verse 1
Water levels are now rising
So as hypocrites and fools
Many animals are in danger
Like some of our morals too

Lookin’ back when we had all the warnings
That we chose to ignore
From coral bleaching to global warming,
Super typhoons and so much more.

Pre-Chorus #1
And then we came to a conclusion
That it is unavoidable
An absurd realization
That the world can someday crumble

Chorus
Lookin’ genuinely worried
About what can happen today
A social media environment warrior
Who stubbornly throws their trash away

Sticks their nose to current issues
But doesn’t even do a thing
Now wonder what went wrong and strange
These are one of the funny things about climate change.

Verse 2
From ocean acidification
To fish migration and melting ice
Ask yourself a question
“For once can we do something nice?”

All the catastrophes and calamities
The extremities that we cannot see
Possibilities result to refugees
Not just “no classes” and “more selfies”

Pre-Chorus #2
That makes a conclusion
That’s too much for our understanding
Use your voice in a proposition
And this time can we stop pretending

Chorus
Lookin’ genuinely worried
About what can happen today
A social media environment warrior
Who stubbornly throws their trash away

Sticks their nose to current issues
But doesn’t even do a thing
Now wonder what went wrong and strange
These are one of the funny things about climate—

Bridge
(What’s the funny thing about climate change?)
Is that we all know it’s happening but we don’t change
(What’s the funny thing about climate change?)
Is that we all know it’s happening but we don’t change
(In the eyes it’s just fun and games)
Until more lives are in danger and our ocean’s at stake
(When we will see it’s not just fun and games?)
And many lives are in danger and our ocean’s at stake?

Chorus
Lookin’ genuinely worried
About what can happen today
A social media environment warrior
Who stubbornly throws their trash away

Sticks their nose to current issues
But doesn’t even do a thing
Now wonder what went wrong and strange
These are one of the funny things about climate change
Yeah eh eh eh
Climate change
Yeah eh eh eh
Climate change

Reflection
Reflection

The song “Change” aims to call out people’s hypocrisy when it comes to environmental issues. With the rise of social media and its worldwide influence, genuine concerns and advocacies to save our planet are being overshadowed by clout-chasing and pretentions. The funny thing about climate change is despite our knowledge of its effects on our lives, we never do anything to help lessen or stop it, and if we do, it is just the bare minimum. Addressing these things and making sure they stick into everyone’s mind is important because this planet's and our ocean's future lies in our hands.
