Childhood Sparks and Splashing Memories

Reflection
This art piece I had created for this contest is heavily inspired by special memories from when I was a child. I would go outside with my friends and family members and catch fireflies with my bare hands. We would go look out for the sparkling lights dazzling in the night sky every few seconds and run after them. Being creative and using my mind with this art piece made me feel free and original. I chose acrylic paint as the medium for this piece because I wanted to show strong and bright colors. I thought acrylic would help make the night sky and the glowing fireflies feel more magical and alive. I also used a pen on top to add more details and create values that stand out against the vibrant colors. Using both materials together helped me bring my special memory to life. I have worked with this type of art in my past because of other art practices I took part in. From this art piece that I am entering with, I have learned that there is beauty in every type of nature. From normal green leaves, to glowing insects in the night sky. For viewers that have looked and taken into consideration of my art piece, I want my message to be clear and warm; being in nature for childhood memories is something not to take for granted.
