The goal for our project was to illustrate both the beauty of the region and the hardship that Southeast Asians face due to climate change in an engaging and personal way. According to our interviewee, excessive heat has become a huge problem in Vietnam. The temperatures often cause droughts, making the jobs of farmers difficult. Additionally, fires have been very common, devastating forests and releasing carbon into the atmosphere. Based on our research, climate change could be solved through the collaborative efforts of global politicians and lawmakers to create new laws related to limiting the human causes of climate change. This includes restrictions on carbon and greenhouse gas emissions, implementing cleaner sources of energy, and handling waste more efficiently. These things would help because they cut to the main sources of climate change and relieve many people of the danger and struggle that they’re currently in. The effects of climate change on Southeast Asia are important to talk about because millions of people are suffering. Unfortunately, the problems in this region are often undermined, and that's why we as a group have done research and have conducted many interviews to make sure that these problems are expressed, understood, and solved.
