The temperature, does change
A hotter climate affects Earth
In many ways
More specifically,
What’s it do to the water?
What happens when the oceans
Just become a little hotter?
Higher sea levels
Less ice, and more rain
Environments destroyed
and the seasons also change
Not only that
It brings coastal floods
Ocean Acidification
Just keeps on rising up
Warm water
Causes coral to bleach
kills all the fish
That people eat
Polar animals
Have no ice
Without that
They can’t survive
Air pollution is
Increasing heat
It’s changing the
Ocean’s chemistry
Agriculture
hard to produce
Freshwater will
Soon reduce

By greenhouse gas in the air
CO2 most common
And is spreading everywhere
Burning fossil fuels,
Coal, oil, and gas
Makes the climate warmer
And it happens very fast
Cutting down trees
And increasing livestock
Fertilizers have
More gases than we thought
All these awful actions
That affect our Earth
But here are some things
That you can do to help
Start by using
Less energy
And buy things more
Sustainably
Reduce your trash
And recycle more
Don’t waste food
You can grow your own
Buy reusable
Forks and spoons
Conserve water
And carpool too
The climate crisis
You should know
We only got one Earth
And it’s our home

But what does that mean?
I just told you
Reflection
When I first heard about this competition, I was extremely excited because I could express my concern for the future of our oceans using my hobbies such as video editing and writing lyrics. “Say My Name” by Destiny's Child, my favorite throw-back song of all time, was ultimately my choice for the parody. While making this video, I researched and found that these issues affecting our oceans are much bigger than I thought they were. Furthermore, I found that my everyday habits were also part of the problem instead of the solution. I tried to include as much as I could about the theme of climate change because I wanted the viewer to gain as much information as possible. Maybe twenty years from now our oceans will look better than it has ever been because of the choices we made in 2020. Now THAT’S an Earth I want to live in!
