I participate in this Bow Seat contest because sea pollution is becoming more serious, so I feel like I must do something to be involved. At first, I was inspired by a picture of an island surrounded by water. Then I had an idea to make artwork about sea level rise. After that, I thought about the period when the Earth was mostly covered by water. I researched and found out that some scientists state that the Earth would be covered by water after a period of time. Therefore, I decided to make an animation to warn people to pay more attention to sea level rise. In addition, from doing this project, I learned how global warming causes sea level rise. Global warming will cause sea level rise because of the thermal expansion and contraction theory. Climate change made me feel uncomfortable because the Earth is getting warmer and warmer. In addition, the sky is no longer clear in many countries. All these reasons made me feel uncomfortable and want to protect Earth. However, it is not enough if only one person does something, so I would like to use this art piece to encourage people to pay more attention to the effects climate change causes to our ocean.
