Reflection

According to data, more than half of the global population lives in cities, and this number is expected to reach nearly 5 billion by 2030. The relationship between cities and nature is one of continuous exchange—cities rely on nature for resources, while nature suffers from urban pollution. These issues not only threaten the balance of the natural environment but also pose challenges to the sustainable development of human society. Against this backdrop, I presented the work through digital painting. Digital painting is flexible and precise, allowing me to express urban landscapes and natural elements more accurately. Through this method, I depicted a woman dressed in traditional attire dancing among the background of a concrete jungle, in harmony with nature. The flowing ribbons and flowing dresses symbolize the human desire to coexist with nature in the city, as well as the profound connection between humans and the environment. In response to the environmental pollution and ecological damage problems caused by urbanization, I deliberately chose a cool color tone to depict the polluted city, thereby creating a depressing atmosphere. The city was shrouded in smoke, and the air became murky, its identity fading under the weight of excessive commercialization, losing its original vitality. By creating this work, I have realized the importance of the coexistence of cities and nature. Although urbanization brings convenience, we cannot ignore its impact on the natural environment. I hope my work can draw people's attention to the relationship between cities and nature. In the concrete jungle, we need to find ways to coexist harmoniously with nature.
