Deteriorating Perception

Reflection
Reflection

I wanted this piece to evoke a beautiful tragedy, as slow but prominent problems plague the most natural aspects of our planet. The emphasis within this piece was the importance of coral reefs and their fading existence. The couple in my piece is meant to represent the strong love and admiration that resides in a relationship of two human beings, a care so strong it can distort one's perception. A human giving life to another serves as emphasis towards caring for one another and our planet, and the unavoidable presence of death. Although death is quite a grim subject to mention, it is essential for all things living. I wished to include the presence of it in my piece, despite the melancholy it may bring to one of the subjects, because it serves as the strength of this couple representing the dying coral reefs.
