Reflection

I still remember how shocked I was when I saw side-by-side photos of a colorful coral reef, and a bunch of bleached corals, completely void of life. When I first learned about this, I couldn't help but think about 7-year-old me, when I had to move out from my old house. I imagine animals in the ocean would feel sad too as they do not know where they can find a safe home. Burning fossil fuels causes changes in ocean temperature which leads to coral bleaching. Thousands of marine animals depend their lives on corals - whether it’s for food or protection. Once the corals die, reefs rarely come back. I want to use my artwork to highlight the urgency we feel towards the changes happening to the ocean.
