Dreams are infinitely powerful. Individuals of the younger generation with goals of helping restore the planet are the true planet heroes; their aspirations empower social percipience on worsening ocean conditions and drive humanity forward. One example of such an individual that I have seen is my very own 9-year-old sister. With her unique dream of becoming a geological scientist, my sister is the girl portrayed in this artwork. Although she is not a recognized name in her field of interest nor a widely known global activist, she and many of her fellow young dreamers have the power to change Earth. My work illustrates how my sister, as a representation of our youth, hopes to bring back the blue ocean and its magnificent biodiversity with the help of science. In this art piece, a round flask, which represents the power of science, conjures up clean water in which ocean animals sprawl forward from. I added this touch of surrealism to reflect how dreams may seem abstract and unreal at times. Most importantly, I want my art to play a part in amplifying the support for dreams like my sister’s. I would like this piece to give young adolescents like her an encouraging push forward by reminding them that all world-changing individuals started just like them: with a dream.
