Drilling too Deep

Project Description: This game is an entry into the Ocean Awareness Contest. I decided to create it when I learned of the horrors that occur in oil rigs. This game is about when humans drill too deep and follows a random bystander. There are 4 endings, so please find them all. If you are stuck on the endings, here is how to get them: Ending 1-decline the first call or keep walking. Ending 2-walk backwards instead of forwards when you enter anarchy. (accept all calls) Ending 3-Don’t pick up any trash/less then 30 pieces. (accept all calls) Ending 4-Pick up all the trash and walk to the end. (accept all calls)

Reflection

Have you ever heard about oil rigs? Yeah, sure we hear little bits in the media, but we never learn fully about what happens in oil rigs and the effect they have on the environment. Schools don’t even teach about them, so I was inspired to make a fun and easy way for youth to be excited about learning about oil rigs. Another thought that inspired the game is that scientists can predict what is below our very feet, and they can make theories but only when we dig deeper and deeper will we discover what is truly under there, and we may not like what we find. I’ve always connected to nature through knowledge and online information as well as advocating for our planet. I hope that my game can inspire you all to begin learning about this topic and maybe go on to teach others and make change on the conditions workers face and the effects that it has on our oceans.
