Reflection
This work was inspired by my experience when I visited Australia. In the recent years when I visited Australia, I have experienced droughts in the land. There was no sign of life surrounding the area and the land was like a cookie, all dried up and cracked into many pieces. This was not the first time that droughts occurred in Australia. In fact, Australia is one of the countries that droughts occur rather frequently, and this has huge impacts on their agricultural industry. In the process of creating my artwork, I felt empathetic towards the people that experienced droughts in their country. This made me immerse into the artwork. My message is that people need more awareness in regards to droughts since it is much more serious than most people think nowadays. After experiencing all of these desperate situations and making this artwork, I realized that this problem isn’t negligible anymore, and that if we leave this problem unsolved, it would just get worse everyday. To state some solutions, management strategies such as water conservation, improved infrastructure, and sustainable agricultural practices are crucial in mitigating the impacts of droughts in Australia.
