Earth is the Only Living Planet
Torrance, CA
2022, Senior, Performing Arts
Since the day you were born
You were mesmerized
By the beauty of the world
And its ocean eyes
You kept smelling every flower
Touching every stone
And the Earth would let you do it—
You’re its precious one!
So you grew and grew
And you used and used
Plastic cups, plastic straws,
Of course, your balloons
You would drive around the corner
For your coffee shot
A single-use you choose
Not reusable cups!
Something’s getting warm
Something’s melting away
Something’s running out of water
Something needs your urgent care!
Ooooceans, the land, the air,
Spare some love, do your share
Whoa! Whoa! Easy with the Earth
It’s the only living planet in the universe!
It’s time to get mature
I don’t mean to buy a car
Get on a bus
If it is too far
Reduction of waste,
Gas, carbon emissions
Should become every single person’s
“Possible” mission!
Now, get mature!
Bring a shopping bag
No, not a plastic one
A local handmade net!
Skip some animal foods
Shop for local produce
And for God’s sake—
Stop the abuse!
Reduce, reuse,
Repair, and recycle
The rule of four Rs
Won’t make you a psycho!
Ooooceans, the land, the air,
Show some love, do your share
Whoa! Whoa! Easy with the Earth
It’s the only living planet in the universe!

I am passionate about music and write and produce my own songs. It's such a sad truth that Earth in the only place we have to live and we just take it for granted. I want to urge people with this song to show some love and do small things which can go a long way. If we are not acting on this today, our future generations will not have a home. It is not just harming ocean animals but us too. I want to engage and raise awareness within my community and tell people that it's not very difficult to not abuse our homes. Out homes are not just the house we live in. Our home is planet Earth!
