When I went to Hawaii and saw that much of the coral and fish were dying because of climate change, I became very sad. I learned about how coral bleaching and climate change cause sea-life to die. Another large cause was the amount of plastic in the ocean. Plastic is not part of the drawing, but it still gave me some inspiration. I have always liked to do art. I am very crafty with my hands, and I like to crochet. The message of the art piece is that climate change and plastic affects ocean life and causes harm. The fish in the art piece are disintegrating and fading away as they try to swim away from, and "escape" climate change. I first used some references to sketch an outline. Then, I used watercolor to fill in large colors and basic shading. After that, I used color pencils to add details. Climate change causes many things to our planet, and they cause the life of our Earth to be shorter and shorter. Certain species have a hard time surviving in the hotter and hotter climate. People can slow down climate change by carpooling, biking instead of driving, driving electric cars, turning off lights and electronics that are not being used, recycling, reusing, and repurposing. There are many more ways to help preserve our planet, but these are some simple ways that you can do every day.
