Flood Prevention and Action AR Goggles UI
Seoul, Republic of Korea
2024, Senior, Interactive & Multimedia
Project Description: The Flood Prevention and Action AR Goggles UI presents some possible user interfaces for AR Goggles–a new rising device/technology in the modern world. The provided interfaces show tools to prevent, prepare, and raise awareness for floods to the users. The given slides walk through the steps of the creation and what problem each interface aims to resolve.

Reflection
My creative process for this submission was to first brainstorm any recent impacts of climate change that I had experienced. This helped me reach the 2022 summer flood in Seoul, which is where I live. Using this event that I had physically been through, I started brainstorming possible ways I could maybe prevent or prepare for this flood through design. A major inspiration point for my decision to focus on flooding was the fact that the flood in Seoul could have been prevented much more easily if we had been more prepared, so immediately I started to brainstorm how people could reach flood prevention and evacuation information easily. This brought me to modern technology, and something that has been on the rise recently is AR–specifically augmented reality goggles. Here I sketched out a bunch of different wireframes on how I could present the information I had learned through research–flood prevention, evacuation, and what exactly made the damages so severe during the 2022 flood in Seoul. The research here gave me a deeper insight onto how easier the flood could've been dealt with and how simple the methods of prevention and evacuation are for someone to follow, if they had access to them. This really resonated with me and a main learning point was realizing how important spreading awareness for natural disasters caused by climate change are to save belongings and lives. Using all the wireframe ideas and research combined, I then made my final UI panels on figma, as a proposal to what the AR goggles could display for the user. Overall, I feel that from this whole process of "Telling my Climate Story," I can take away that the most immediate actions I can engage in my community to tackle climate change is to generally spread awareness about the topic, whether this be through word or the internet.
