Reflection
Reflection

In addressing this year’s theme, I submitted an informative podcast centered around Franziska Trautmann, an environmental activist and the founder and CEO of Glass Half Full. My creative process was greatly informed by her ability to kindle change and optimism by rallying around her community. This experience left me with a greater appreciation for the power and pathos that art can encapsulate as well as the extensive change that one individual can inspire. Through my podcast, I sought to promote the message that it can take one individual to foster a culture of activists. My research on Trautmann and her work with glass sand has taught me that there is so much innovation in addressing the climate crisis that has not yet been tapped into. Overall, the story of Franziska Trautmann left me feeling optimistic and energized about the ability to empower and create meaningful change.
