Give More Care

Wake up in the morning beachside
Knowing that it won’t be alright
Climate change ain’t no paradise
You can’t be smilin’ all nice
All we see is melting ice
‘Cuz of us the ocean’s on a rise rise rise rise rise
Emissions are only the start
Gases everywhere
Our world is getting too hot
We should give more care
Oceans are being poisoned
Damage that we can’t unbend
Our blue planet we must defend
These seas are rising too fast
Our planet’s not gonna last
When will we ever listen yea?
Coral bleaching ain’t no small issue
The heat’s wiping color like a tissue
The algae have left too
Reefs dying in a queue
Fish losing shelter and shielding
They might end up being extinct
Reefs can’t stop these surges
Coastal ‘hoods with distress
Fish go polar living
Can’t bear all this burning
Fishers can’t make an earning
So no more herring
Unless we start caring
Oceans full of acid
Animals dying it’s tragic
This won’t help with medicine
We’ll need some magic
Or it’ll be hectic
Emissions are only the start
Gases everywhere
Our world is getting too hot
We should give more care
Let’s learn some ocean guidelines
And make sure everything’s fine
It all begins at the coastlines yea
Volunteer for a beachside cleanup
Ditch all those single-use cups
The sea needs a clean old glow-up yea
For the whitening corals
Slow the roll with all those chemicals
Report dumping that’s illegal
Step up and be ecological
For the changing climate
Ride a bike for shorter distances
Implement the three Rs
Be efficient when you’re inside the car?
There’s acid in the ocean
The enemy for our nation
Preach with its information
No need to be in fear
Just make it a bit clear
Our wish somewhere around here
Reflection
At a time when we were all unoccupied by work, Bhavana found this convivial contest allowing all of us to bond. Originally, we weren’t too aware of the problems that came with climate change and how massively they affected us. Through our extensive research, we found out that people all over the world were in tremendous trouble due to the problems created by ocean pollution. Our research clearly showed the impacts we, as people, have on the ocean, through industrialization and other factors. It also showed that we aren’t only hurting the ocean, but ourselves as well, as the ocean is crucial to our survival. Whether you live in the middle of the desert or near the coastlines, we should all care about the ocean and the little things that we can do to help save it. For our team members, music was the one medium that we felt like there was an open horizon. There was an endless amount of opportunities, giving us a lot of precious time to think about and proceed with the music video we have created. For us, music was a creative way to express our sympathy for the oceans and a chance in which we could reach people quickly, as it is one of the biggest industries in the world. We hope our lyrics can inspire people to “give more care” to our oceans.
