Climate Hero: Hong Won-Hee
Reflection

Through the process of researching for my artwork, I learned climate change is detrimental to marine animals' wellbeing. For example, climate change may affect ocean currents, which play a crucial role in the distribution of nutrients and the movement of marine organisms. With this knowledge in mind, I wanted to create an artwork that portrays those who are working to help these animals. With further research I came across Won-Hee Hong, a Marine Veterinarian who provide medical care to injured, sick, or stranded marine animals. Hong adminsters medication and provide supportive care to aid in the recovery and rehabilitation of marine animals. I hoped to portray the beauty of providing care for animals who have been affected by people's indifferent actions through my painting.
