Climate Hero: Haenyeo
Reflection

As I was reading articles about the environment, I found an article on Haenyeo. Because I have lived in Jeju Island and have seen Haenyeos close-up, these articles caught my attention. I read about how Haenyeos help the environment and Jeju waters by picking up neglected trash and garbage. Because Haenyeos are special to Korea and special to me personally, I decided to paint Haenyeos as heroines. Rather than painting a scene of Haenyeos at work, I decided to create a parody of Atlas with Haenyeos.
