Reflection
Climate change is a global crisis to the ocean and it did not thrive through any natural means. The suffocation and suffering of all ocean life, including the poor state of our beloved ocean itself certainly did not happen voluntarily; such disaster is the result of the poor judgement and contribution of all human beings. My painting illustrates this despair. In it, the ocean is very dark and littered as a result of the carbon dioxide humans emit into the atmosphere everyday. The fish are suffering from the change of environment and change in temperature; thus, they pray to a Jesus fish in an underwater church for hope. Although the painting appears simple and foolish with fish praying for hope, it symbolizes an urgent need for change. The very human race that took away hope can be their new hope. With a spread of awareness and cleanup volunteering, we can decrease climate change and save the ocean. Our oceans can be saved.
