We have the future in our hands, but eventually, it will be in the hands of future people. To me, hope comes from a continuous effort to transform the impending doom of our environment. For this to happen, education and spreading awareness are vital since people need to understand the problem before correcting their actions. Luckily, the internet connects us throughout the world, even if we are quarantined, allowing easy access to research and learning, which is what I wanted to capture. Programs such as the Ocean Awareness Contest promote learning from online resources and maybe help out the environment in that way. The figure in my piece points towards the audience because, ultimately, hope lies in our ability to educate ourselves and others, and to act accordingly to create a better future.
