Reflection
The idea for this project came from personal questioning about my own relationship with nature and, more broadly, the connection that people have with nature today. I was inspired by observing the gap between today's humans and those of the past, today we are like divided and no longer unified with our natural environment. Through exploring the theme "Connections with Nature: Looking Inside, Going Outside," I realized it had been far too long since I spent meaningful time in nature. The process of filming by the water and in the forest was incredibly soothing and reminded me how essential this connection is. My film follows Johani, a 17-year-old girl seeking inner peace in our harsh, noisy world. She moves from urban chaos toward natural spaces, experiencing a pivotal moment that represents burnout from information overload in our fast-paced world. My message to viewers is urgent: don't wait to reconnect with nature. In our overwhelming modern world, this connection isn't just beneficial for our planet, it's essential for human wellbeing and mental health.
