Irony of Climate Change
Haram Lee
Seoul, South Korea
2022, Junior, Art (2014 – 2023)
Reflection

Unlike the usual summer, the current weather has been very cool with a lovely breeze. This makes me wish that the continuing climate change has finally been alleviated. I imagined a picture of a polar bear finally protecting its shelter and getting as much food as it wants. With my imagination, I was able to enjoy my summer vacation in a pool. Yet, in reality, the global climate change got exacerbated. As this problem continues, it will cause more harm to the Earth. My main idea was to promote the fact that climate change has gotten worse while ordinary people like me think the opposite. The freshwater I swim in and the mild breeze I feel are actually coming from the melting of the polar bear’s only house.
