Leaf Gap Flowing Light · Echoes in the Forest Concert
Sijia Peng
Shenzhen, China
2025, Senior, Interactive & Multimedia

Project Description: This project is an outdoor concert planned by me. The purpose is to encourage people to go to the natural environment and connect with the environment. I planned this 30-minute flash concert and drew and designed a poster for it. At the beginning of the concert, I introduced the background and vision of this concert. As an opening, I performed a flute performance “Flower Day”. Then two violinists performed an ensemble and a solo. At the end of the performance, I organized the audience to sing a song together, so that everyone can feel the power of nature and music and experience the charm of connecting with nature. I was very happy to feel that everyone began to fall in love with the outdoors in the free conversation with the audience after the performance.

Reflection

The idea for the “Echoes in the Forest” concert stemmed from my desire to mend the frayed connection between urban - living individuals and nature. In today's tech - saturated era, where our bond with the natural world often takes a backseat, I conceived of an event that could reforge this link via music. The vision was to provide an opportunity for people to retreat from the urban chaos and immerse themselves in the tranquility of a forest while relishing live musical performances. Let us not forget that nature is our original home, and it's high time we break free from the digital cocoons and step into the embrace of the great outdoors more often. I sincerely hope that the audience internalizes the message that nature is not merely a passive backdrop but an essential component of our overall well - being. This concert was intended to demonstrate that by immersing ourselves in nature and partaking in shared experiences like music, we can revitalize our spirits and cultivate more profound connections, not only with the environment but also with one another. So, let us all make a conscious effort to step outside, explore the beauty of nature, and let its magic infuse our lives on a regular basis.
