Reflection
Throughout my creation of this artwork that expresses how individuals disregard the diffusion of pollution as well as its detrimental effects, I learned that the gradual advancements in our society are a huge part of the why climate change has reached its apex. Beginning from the Industrial Age, our society has constantly been expanding into a new world of technological and mechanical advancements. People are turning a blind eye to the bigger issue that is occurring outside of the technological world. With this in mind, I wanted to portray how the attention of people to something that can possibly be inimical to our world is being drawn away solely because of the mindset they have towards achieving a futuristic society. This is displayed through the apathetic behavior the female figure is posing despite the turmoil around her; the figure is merely paying heed to her phone as the world behind her is melting and consequently threatening the lives of animals.
